I purchased Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum from TireRack.com for my mazda 3. It’s $118 per tire. A total cost of about $520 + 80 or something like that for installations. Definitely not cheap.

Has anyone done a major major service on their Mazda3? I’ve had mine since 30,000 miles. It now has 74,000 and I have never done more than change the oil, tires and air filter.

I am wondering if I should take it to the dealer? Or find a good independent shop.

Any thoughts? I would appreciate any comments you might have about cost, amount of labor, things I need to be sure they complete, etc.

I’ve actually never checked, but I definitely should. So far, one of my worst hits was to the throat when I forgot to bring my collar – that hurt, a lot!

Have you checked to see if a puck will fit through the cavernous eye hole of the Itech? Looks like that cat-eye hole is pretty large. I know a puck won’t fit thru the HM30, been hit there enough times to know that.

Im very happy to hear that.

People commute far too long, in this country especially. They think theyre getting a bargain on a house but they dont factor in these kinds of costs. I also have a 2007 mazda3, 2 and a half years now. I have 21000 miles and do lots of weekend driving.

The cost to operate is so much lower than what you were experiencing. Non fuel expenses is about 600$ and I go to the dealer for everything (ya i know!) and I even got the recommended 15000 miles service (ya I know again). Depreciation is much lower as well. More importantly youll save 7 hours a week from sitting in a car, that you can use to hone your air-guitaring skills.

Funny you should mention that – I have actually moved closer to work since this post, and my commute is now approximately 5 miles round trip! It’s a much better deal
